A Little Bit Of Faith
Words and Music by Michael Wayne Smith
Verse One: There’s a mountain in your way · And you know you’ve got to climb it · No matter how you try · There’s just no way around it · But you don’t have to go alone · It just never works that way · You were meant to trust · And have a little bit of faith · Chorus:  A little bit of faith · It’s all you really need · You can change your situation · If only you believe · So, when you begin to speak · To the mountains in your way · Just remember all it takes · Is a little bit of faith · Verse two: Now the fear is calling out · And your heart just doesn’t listen · But reflections in your mind · Tell you to change direction · Oh, but God will make you strong · At the moment when you pray · That mountain’s gonna tumble · From that little bit of faith

The Reason That I Sing
Words and Music by Michael Wayne Smith
Verse One: It seems like lately I’ve been through it · I guess you could say I’ve seen better days · And sometimes this load gets heavy · And I want to throw it all away · But You’re a shelter hanging over me · When the rain begins to fall · And, just like a beacon in the darkness · Your love will see me through it all · Chorus: ‘Cause You are the rock that I can lean on · You are the wind beneath my wings · You are the light in all my darkness · And, You are the reason that I sing · Verse two: It’s plain to see that I’m not perfect · I try to live the best I can · Oh, but I’m not always straight and narrow · And, how I wish I was a better man · But, You are standing right beside me · Just like the footprints in the sand · And, when I start to slip and fall · You pick me up and help me stand.

A Little Mercy Now
Words and Music by Michael Wayne Smith
Verse One: My life, Lord, it ain’t turned out · The way that I had hoped · But you see I’ve learned my lesson · I just thought you’d like to know · Just look at all these scars · I know I’ve let you down · With nothing left but my shame · I could use a little mercy now · Chorus:  I know I don’t deserve it Lord · You’ve been hurt so many times · And I’ve lost so many chances · All because of foolish pride · I’m tired of playing this game · And I know you’re tired as well · I’m laying it all down · I could use a little mercy now · Verse Two: Well, I guess you could say · What goes around comes around · I’ve tasted this bitter cup · But now I’ve thrown it on the ground · I know you understand · You always love me somehow · But this time like no other · I could use a little mercy now

Calvary Stands In My Way
Words and Music by Michael Wayne Smith
Verse One: Well, Lord, you know I’m just a man · And I just live from day to day · And I have seen my share of trouble · Every step along the way · But everything that I have done · It has brought me to my knees · And now I’m calling to you Father · Would you come and rescue me · Chorus:  Now when I look back on my sins · Calvary stands in my way · Oh, it’s then I am reminded · This ole sinner’s debt is paid · And no more will I be in chains · From the scars of yesterday · I can’t see the things behind me · When Calvary stands in my way · Verse Two: Now the world is getting brighter · And these old wounds are on the mend · For Jesus walks beside me · And everyday He holds my hand · But when the demons of the past · When they choose to come around · I just hold a little tighter · To this Savior I have found

It Won’t Be Long

Jesus Is Here
Words and Music by Michael Wayne Smith
Verse One: Some days you’re soaring on the wind · Just like an eagle · Then there are days · You feel so reckless · You can’t hold your own · Well, if you’re rock steady or tossed around · Let me remind you · There is hand that’s reaching out · From a heavenly throne · Chorus:  So if you feel you’ve lost your way · Jesus is here · In fact He is standing · There by your side · There’s nothing to fear · And He will not leave you all alone · Just let your heart be His home · So don’t look any farther · Hope had arrived · ‘Cause Jesus is here · Verse two: But you feel you’ve drifted · So far away · That no one can find you · You’re just a hopeless case in life · And you’re not worth the time · But Jesus is there with open arms · ‘Cause He never left you · Just let His love reach out to you · And give you new life
