Today is my birthday.  This is the last year I will be in my "30's".  You know, I could choose to be depressed and dwell on the fact that I'm closer to the BIG 40 or I could choose to disregard the "number" and focus on how I am so blessed to be the age that I am and to have the awesome life that I have. 

I have a wonderful family and friends who love me dearly.  I am healthy and have the strength to make it to the gym almost every day.  I have been given the wonderful gift of music in which I cannot imagine being without.  I have been given the opportunity to use my musical gifts in ministry.   And, most of all, I have the most precious gift of all....my salvation.

If I sound like I am bragging....well, I am!  I am too blessed to be depressed!  People say it's just a number and those people are exactly right!   What makes you old is your state of mind and your attitude.  Each one of us have been given the wonderful gift of life and the opportunity to make the most of it while we are on this earth.  What will you do with your life?

So, happy birthday to me! 

God has been doing some awesome things this year and it just blows me away.  I keep thinking of what Jeremiah 29:11 says.  "For I know the plans I have for you", declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future".  I am so humbled at the thought that God would have that kind of consideration on me.   But yet, here I am, witnessing with my own eyes the plans that He has laid out for me.  Even before I was born, He planned for me to be gifted with music and planned for me to use that gift to touch lives.  And, in return, I have been blessed.  I have hope and I have a future.  Thank you my Heavenly Father!
